WOOT! - Virus Scanning

WOOT virus scanning is enabled on all barrieweb.com mail servers. This (simple) custom program written in C avoids the load that Perl or shell scripts place on the server. It integrates quickly with clamav and qmail.

The program simply uses clamdscan to check to see if a message is a virus... If it is, it silently drops it - No one wants to know you sent an infected message to them or they missed out on receiving a Virus - and 99% of the time the sending email address is spoofed anyway, causing unnecessary panic and confusion for you and your clients.

It is pretty foolproof and load on the mail servers is not affected.

We also use RBL (Real-time Black List) to further filter unwanted messages.
